Prof. Suradej Hongeng studied Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University in 1987. He is board certified Diplomate of the Thai Board of Pediatrics, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. He completed his Residency in Pediatric at Khonkaen General Hospital in 1990. He gained a Fellowship in Hematology, Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University in 1991. He then moved on to complete his Residency in Pediatric at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993. He gained Fellowships in Hematology, Oncology and Neuro-oncology in 1996 and 1997 respectively at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at Memphis. He was assigned various roles right from being an Instructor to an Assistant Professor to an Associate Professor to finally being an Assistant Dean of Research Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. His areas of interests include research in Pediatric oncology and Neuro-oncology, Stem cell transplantation, Pharmacogenomics, Adoptive immunotherapy in cancers and viral infections in post-transplant, Mesenchymal stem cell, amniotic fluid stem cell and cellular therapy and Cord blood stem cell expansion. He won the Outstanding pediatric resident award at University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991. Travel award for simultaneous session presentation at The American Society of Hematology Meeting at Orlando was conferred upon him in 1996. He also won Young investigator award at Ramathibodi Hospital in 1998.
