Dr. Ana Patricia Alcasabas received her Bachelors in Basic Medical Science and Medical Degree from the University of the Philippines, Manila in 1994. After graduation, she worked for Community Medicine Organization as a primary healthcare doctor in Mindoro Island, Philippines. She took her pediatric residency at the Philippine General Hospital, followed by Pediatric residency and Hematology Oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan- Wayne State University. From 2009 -2013, she worked as a Consultant and Assistant Professor (Paediatrics) at National University Hospital and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University Singapore. She returned to the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital in 2013, where she is an Assistant Clinical Professor and the head of the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. She chairs the Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee and is the Medical Program Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Department of Global Medicine – Philippine General Hospital Twinning Partnership. She served as SIOP PODC Adapted Treatment Co-Chair from 2016-2019. Currently, she is also the President of the Philippine Society of Pediatric Oncology and a member of the Asian Childhood Cancer Alliance.
